The CelebrityShoeStylestheNarrowShoeWay blog is modeled after that old show The Look for Less, where a designer recreates a celebrity’s high-end look for a low-end price. Our idea for the blog is to create a variation on that theme, where we try to mimic the trendy shoe styles the celebrities‘ wear, which are typically not available in narrow width, with shoes that capture the trend. When we’re lucky, we'll actually find shoes that match the style almost completely!
Other times, when that trendy style is just not available in our narrow width, we’ll suggest shoes that represent the style based on an embellishment, the shoe’s shape and color, or the curve of the heel. The blog is an extension of our other narrow shoe blog at The Narrow Shoe.com, our ecommerce site for women, men, girls and boys who are looking for stylish shoes in their narrow width. We hope you enjoy our interpretation of celebrity style from the (narrow) shoes on up!
04/24/12: Journalist Matt Lauer attends the TIME 100 Gala celebrating TIME'S 100 Most Influential People in the World list party at the Time Warner Center in New York. Pictured here in an elegant black suit and black oxfords (instead of the brown one's he favors on the show) here's what we'd choose for him:
At the Today 60th Anniversary Show Celebration on January 13, 2012, Matt, Ann, Natalie and Al posed together. Matt and Al seem to have the same signature style dark suits with brown oxfords.
On the set with Savannah Guthrie during the Summer, Matt wore white Bucks. We couldn't find a square-toed buck but we like these just as well. We hope Matt would like them, too!
Here's a pic of Matt wearing his signature brown oxfords with and his wife. It looks like the shoes she's wearing might be a little wide for her! Maybe she need a narrow width too? We're happy to make some recommendations!
